horizon, 19.12.1998
Sprengel Museum Hannover, 2003
slides, fluorescent tubes 5 x 5 x 550 cm
A horizontal line of slide photos on fluorescent tubes brings together photos of the sky from 55 countries, all taken from many participants the same day and time around the globe: 19th of Dec. 1998, the death day of William Turner, the painter of the light.
The bright horizon seems to break up the concrete walls, to extend the limit of the given space and opening up the viewer’s perspective. As you walk along you can look as far as to the horizon of the world.
