16 ONE SKY FLAGS are flying in Berlin close to the Reichstag (see its dome in the back).

We all live under one sky. This is what the artist Yvonne Lee Schultz brings us with her “One Sky Flags. Germany” to mind.
In cooperation with Kunstverein Oldenburg and the support of all 16 state representations .
A large image of the sky emerges on the south facade of the state representation of Lower Saxony – in the middle of Berlin and where Germany was divided for decades: In the ministerial gardens, the Ministergärten.
Young people from all federal states were invited to take photographs of their personal view of the sky and to answer a short questionnaire about their current condition. From the various submissions, the artist has selected one image and one quote per country. Together they form the sky over Germany in spring 2021.
ONE SKY FLAGS focuses on what connects. The flag installation is a plea for diversity in unity and an impulse to question the known, rigid assignments, identities and demarcations. Because clouds and weather do not stop at national borders, nor do the social challenges of the present, be it climate change, the pandemic or similar. This is also evident in the answers given by the young people. It is worth looking at the sky above the federal states to know how young people hope for a life in Germany in the future. With “One Sky Flags. Germany” she is already beginning to actively help shape the future. Many Thanks.
The 4 storey high, 100 ft wide art installation could be seen 24/7 without restrictions during Corona lockdown emphazising the aspect of freedom of the artwork. The participants enjoyed their participation aiming to create a symbol of equality and joint responsibility for our environment.

Wir leben alle unter einem Himmel. Dies führt uns die Künstlerin Yvonne Lee Schultz mit ihren
„One Sky Flags. Deutschland“ vor Augen.
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Kunstverein Oldenburg und mit Unterstützung aller 16 Landesvertretungen entsteht ein großes Himmelsbild an der Südfassade der Landesvertretung Niedersachsen – mitten in Berlin und dort, wo Deutschland jahrzehntelang geteilt war:
In den Ministergärten.
Jugendliche aller Bundesländer waren eingeladen, ihren persönlichen Blick in den Himmel fotografisch festzuhalten und einen kurzen Fragebogen zu ihrer aktuellen Verfasstheit zu beantworten. Aus den unterschiedlichen Einsendungen hat die Künstlerin je ein Bild und Zitat pro Land ausgewählt. Zusammen bilden diese den Himmel über Deutschland, im Frühjahr 2021.
One Sky Flags rückt das Verbindende in den Blick. Die Fahneninstallation ist ein Plädoyer für die Vielfalt in der Einheit und ein Impuls, Bekanntes, starre Zuordnungen, Identitäten und Abgrenzungen zu hinterfragen. Denn Wolken und Wetter machen ebenso wenig Halt an Landesgrenzen, wie die gesellschaftlichen Herausforderungen der Gegenwart, sei es etwa der Klimawandel, die Pandemie oder ähnliches mehr. Dies wird auch deutlich in den Antworten der Jugendlichen. Der Blick in den Himmel über den Bundesländern lohnt, um zu wissen, wie die Jugend sich zukünftig ein Leben in Deutschland erhofft. Mit „One Sky Flags. Deutschland“ beginnt sie schon jetzt aktiv die Zukunft mitzugestalten. Vielen Dank.
